Hello all!
You may remember that last week I told you about my first ever time making marmalade.
You can read all about it here.
I was so pleased with it, I decided to enter it into a competition – you know me and how I love a good comp! So I parcelled up one of my jars and sent it off to The World’s Original Marmalade Awards, which is held annually at Dalemain Mansion in Cumbria. I entered the novice amateur category. They have entries from all over the world and you can find out more about it all here.

Well, dear readers, I am delighted to tell you that I received a merit award.
I scored 14 out of 20 (not bad for a first attempt) and was only two points away from a medal position. They commented on my score card that the peel should have been cooked longer as it was rather bitter. Ironically this was one of the things my husband and I most liked about the flavour as it made it so different from commercial marmalades! I have a lot more to learn about the world of marmalade-making!

Do you make marmalade? Send me all your top tips please!
Vohn
