Scrumptious Saturdays is my series of weekly roundups. I am frequently surfing around the interweb looking at lovely pictures of food and finding delicious new recipes that I want to try out. I thought it might be handy for you if I shared some of my favourites with you each week.

You may have noticed that the recipes I’ve been writing this year have been fairly healthy, with very few sweet treats.
I have been trying to lose some weight, as I put on several stone in the past couple of years when I have been ill and unable to exercise. To celebrate losing my first stone I have allowed myself to look at recipes for some scrumptious sweet treats! There is something here for everyone – whether you are a sticky-bun sort of person; or prefer muffins, brownies or cupcakes; or want to go all-out for a cake!
Just click on each photo to be transported to these scrumptious sweet recipes!
I love how simple it is to make these Sticky Buns by Joanne at Wine Lady Cooks. The sweet sticky topping gets spooned into the muffin tray at the same time as the bun mix, so they cook together and are ready as soon as they’re out of the oven. Brilliant!
These jumbo Espresso Chocolate Chip muffins by Sarah at The Chef Next Door are a great idea for caffeine-fiends like me. I look forward to an extra caffeine boost with my morning coffee break!
If you prefer a drop of the hard stuff, then Heidy of The McCallum’s Shamrock Patch has the answer with her adults-only Jack Daniel’s Pecan Caramel Fudge Brownies! Mr Vohn is quite partial to JD so I have saved this recipe to make for his birthday.
I feel inspired by these Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes by Stephanie from The TipToe Fairy. I’m not a big fan of peanut butter so I would take liberty with Stephanie’s recipe and swap it for hazelnut butter. There would be no messing with her fabulous topping though – Salted Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting sounds heavenly!
If you want a full-sized cake, you must have a look at this Pastel de Tres Leche by Mary from Bunny’s Warm Oven. I had never heard of this Nicaraguan cake before, which translates as Cake with Three Milks. I am drooling at the thought of it – a light, airy, cinnamon sponge cake which absorbs the sweet rum-milk syrup that gets spooned over the top after baking. Oh my goodness…!
Enjoy your cake-fest!

Thank you Sarah and my pleasure! I am having a caffeine fix right now and wish I had your muffins to go with it! 🙂
