Hello and welcome to my blog Vohn’s Vittles!

I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that I’m a little bit obsessed with food!

My name is Vohn McGuinness and I am a keen amateur cook who is passionate about great-tasting food using all natural ingredients.  I love trying new dishes, so am often found with my head in a recipe book, or thinking up my own new recipe ideas – something I have recently discovered is actually called “recipe development” and not “daydreaming” as I had been led to believe!  I am happy to tackle any dish and love to learn and be challenged.

Here’s a little more about me…

My nickname, Vohn, is short for Siobhan.

I am originally from Northern Ireland but live in Scotland.

I think I’m a fairly boring normal person but am told I am quirky, bohemian, funny and crazy.

    what do you suggest we can do with celeriac, apart from mixing with (MASHED) POTATOES:
    It is very mild-tasting

      Ooh – good question Philip. I love celeriac. I like to eat it raw and shredded with mayonnaise, like a winter slaw. It is also delicious roasted, as the nutty flavour is enhanced – you can either chop it up or wrap in foil and roast whole.
